"I can't change the laws of physics!"

RIP, Mr. Doohan:

James Doohan as Scotty

"beam me up, scotty" may take on a whole new meaning now...

I'm so very, very sad to hear this. I saw him a few years ago at a Star Trek convention and he looked so old. It actually surprises me that he carried on this many years past then. The Original Star Trek is as much a part of my childhood imagination as Star Wars and I was disappointed when the crew stopped making movies together. He will live on in our hearts but will be missed all the same.

Holy cow Jenn. We are on the same wavelength. I saw the Google graphic today and thought about posting something related to the moon landing, and later I heard that Scotty died and I thought about posting a tribute. But alas, I was too busy during the day, and then I wasted all of my blog energy on a rant at night, so it isn't going to happen. At this point I'd seem unoriginal anyways. Oh well.

I read yesterday that Kirk never said it but I'm not sure about the others.

if the BBC said it it's probably true, in a very specific sort of way.
