disco fish

i don't know what it is, maybe the boots, maybe the disco, maybe the harmonies, maybe the silliness of it all, but listening to ABBA just makes me ridiculously giddy & prancy & dance-aroundy & sing-at-the-top-of-my-lungsy.

ABBA.

i know, i know, but i am not ashamed.

listen to some snippets & tell me you don't feel compelled to prance.

i have very fond memories of this crap, that could be it.

or it could be the boots.

I SO hated Abba when I was growing up (we're talking around 1978, right?)

I don't anymore.

It's the boots.

Ok, it's coz they're pop in all the right ways!

Carpenters and older stuff by the The Beatles have a similar effect on me.

oh; i have fond memories of Abba. my mother used to play them on repeat while we were growing up. and nothing says disco like shiny clothes, oddly shaped guitars and poofy hair.

I've got plenty of ABBA songs on my Rhapsody list and am making sure my daughter gets introduced to them. I remember my brother and I getting an ABBA record with our Easter candy one year and we played the heck out of it. I too have wonderful nostalgic memories associated with them and, for better or worse, will forever enjoy their music because of those memories.

I'm the same way... it's like a disorder. I can't help myself. (And I like it!) =)

My parents used to buy my brother and I baskets of candy and then they would get us some kind of gift. For several years we got record albums. One year we got the Bee Gee's greatest hits, thus all the things I said about liking ABBA are true for them as well.

Its a tradition we've carried on with our daugther, getting her a little something to go with her Easter candy.
