charitable fish

i know there's a lot of charities & very important causes out there...& i have no idea what portion of the blogosphere is able to donate at all...but since i love 'im, i'm plugging a dear friend's personal exercise in Do-Gooding.

james is in Vancouver now, & i can't remember when he got into bikes really, but it was probably around this time in philadelphia:

james in philadelphia, summer of 2003.

point being, he's participating in something called The Big Fix ("fix" referring to fixed gear bicycles) to raise money for Histiocytosis.
the plan is:
a cross-country bicycle ride, using single-speed, fixed-gear bicycles, averaging 120 miles per day. The ride is from Davis, California to Boston, MA. Thye ride will take place from June 17 – July 14, 2006 (28 days).

point being, he needs sponsors, & if he raises enough cash hopefully the organization will provide food & shelter along the way.
i'm kidding, i have no idea how that aspect's being handled.

in short:
Hey fishies! give money to james so he can do good deeds!

i am so poor :( but i love james! you know despite knowing him during his "alcohol-fueled bartending past" instead of his "health-conscious cycling present", i always knew something like this would happen. just sort of a very shirtless-wonder boy thing to do. ;)
