happy wednesday!

(because it didn't feel right, the fish without a happy day-of-the-week...)

this one is for carl v:

a toast to a dedicated fish-follower!
also i happen to have a pint glass with his name on it.

also i just want to state for the record that i have been wearing ridiculously oversized sunglasses for a long, long time.

this is me in 2001...i dunno, i like to feel i'm channelling Audrey Hepburn.

14 little fish:

but...not necessarily in those glasses...which were a 50-cent salvation army find, good ol granny-of-the-70's style, & rose-colored.

i still have them, though the lenses are really too scratched to wear them.
i love them, they're awful.

Thanks for the drink...my gosh that looks sooooo good right now!!! Love the glass as well!

I answered you back on my site but I'll repeat here that it was for you and only you that I put the "no offense" clause in. You always look cute no matter what you wear....actually Katie looks cute in them too...I just think its hilarious how fashions cycle back around and big glasses always remind me of the huge prescription things I wore as a kid. Giant, hubble telescope sized things!!! You stay true to your big sunglasses self! ;)

well and, though jennsee is always ahead of the times, i unfortunately think you can blame paris hilton for the up rise of this particular trend

happy hump day!

they are very silly...

also, indeed, strikingly similar to the pink prescription ones i had as a child...

did anyone look good in their prescription glasses when they were young? i went through 5 years of big plastic frame ridicule before i broke my parents down enough and finally got a decent pair of wireframes in my soph year of hs. they just weren't covered by insurance back then.

No, I doubt anyone did. Yours are a darn sight better looking than anything I wore Jenn See! The worst thing about those giant prescription glasses is that they appeared to have attractive energy similar to the magnetic poles as no matter where one was or what one was doing they always ended up broken somehow. Its funny that as an adult I've hardly ever damaged my glasses but as a kid it seemed like they were getting broken every other day!

That scene in A Christmas Story when his glasses break is like deja vu everytime I see it!

not sure what could possibly be worse than those...cokebottlelenses in pink plastic frames...
i don't want to imagine "worse".

you may owe us a photo, carl v.

heh. sorry. i only have the vaguest memory of watching that flick one afternoon and being astounded to see audrey hepburn while people around her had sideburns, bell-bottom pants and big hair. of course i could be wrong but still...

... times like these i wish my brain had google search.
